Charity Event Hosted by whr Hossinger

A 100th birthday is a great opportunity to give back to the community. That’s why whr Hossinger was eager to serve as the main sponsor of a special charity event.

Participants on a bridge pour yellow rubber ducks into a river below during a fun community event, surrounded by greenery and a clear blue sky.

A duck race was held at the Esper in collaboration with the ski department of SpVgg Mitterdorf.

The procedure and rules:

  • You can sponsor a duck.
  • For €4, you also receive a raffle number, which can be found on the ducks that are released into the water during the event.
  • The ticket number of the duck that crosses the finish line first is announced, and the winner receives a prize.

Specifically, 1,000 ducks were released into the water on September 14 at 3:00 p.m. It took barely half an hour for the first duck to reach the finish line. The other ten winning ducks followed in quick succession.

Whr Hossinger tried to attract additional sponsors and therefore invited all companies involved in the construction of the new hall to donate money. In return, they received their own floating object, which served as advertising space featuring their logo.

The event’s fundraising goal was the KUNO Foundation. Volunteers were also on site to promote the foundation. The ski department provided coffee, cake, and bratwurst to keep everyone well-fed.

Despite a brief but heavy rain shower, DJ Max and host Bastian Neumann kept the approximately 400 attendees entertained from the Roding River Stage. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the Roding Water Rescue Service, who supported the event without hesitation.

At the end of the day, the charity event was a complete success, and on October 10, 2025, a donation of €10,000 was presented to the Kuno Foundation.
