Sustainability at whr Hossinger Kunststofftechnik

Protecting an intact environment—the foundation of life for our society and future generations—is our top priority. Our mission is to balance ecological and economic interests and to consistently promote environmental protection across all areas of our business.

Five Guidelines for Action

To meet this standard, whr Hossinger has developed five binding guidelines.

1. Our goal is the continuous improvement of our environmental performance

We are committed to continuously reducing existing environmental impacts, within the limits of our economic capabilities.

2. Environmental protection starts with our employees; at our company, environmental protection is the responsibility of every individual.

We promote personal responsibility through information and awareness-raising in all areas of corporate environmental protection.

3. We are committed to environmentally sound production

We use raw materials and energy sparingly. For unavoidable emissions and waste, we seek economically viable options for environmentally sound recycling or disposal. When planning new production facilities, we strive to design our production processes as efficiently as possible. Whenever possible, we use returnable packaging.

4. We promote environmental protection among our suppliers

We view environmental protection as a shared responsibility with our suppliers. We give preference to environmentally sound practices among our suppliers, such as the use of eco-friendly modes of transportation. We ensure that our customers are informed about the proper storage, eco-friendly packaging, and transportation of our products.

5. We ensure compliance with laws and regulations

Compliance with laws, ordinances, official notices, and other regulations is a matter of course for us.

Our Guidelines in Practice

As part of the construction and renovation of its corporate headquarters, whr Hossinger has made targeted investments in sustainable infrastructure—to ensure environmentally friendly production and a better work environment for its employees.

Green Outdoor Spaces

The newly designed outdoor areas offer employees a covered lounge area with a small herb garden. Covered bicycle parking spaces encourage employees to commute emission-free. The parking lot has been intentionally landscaped to reduce soil sealing and improve the microclimate.

Solar Power System and Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

A solar power system on the roof of the company building generates clean electricity for the company's own use. In addition, electric vehicle charging stations are available to employees—as an active way to support zero-emission commuting.

Efficient and Quiet Production Machines

The use of modern electric machines significantly reduces energy consumption in production. At the same time, employees benefit from a quieter work environment thanks to lower noise levels.

Plastics Recycling and the Circular Economy

Production waste such as sprues, start-up parts, and other plastic scraps is consistently sorted and collected by plastic type. It is then fed into the recycling system and processed into granules—ensuring that valuable raw materials remain in the material cycle.

Plastics & Recycling

Sustainability doesn't start with recycling—it starts with waste prevention. This understanding shapes the actions of whr Hossinger Kunststofftechnik and is an integral part of our corporate philosophy.

In our production, we take care to use resources responsibly and avoid plastic waste as much as possible. Unavoidable production residues such as sprues, start-up parts, and, where applicable, scrap parts are consistently sorted by type. This allows the materials to be processed to a high standard and returned to the recycling cycle.

The recovered recycled materials are fed into the so-called secondary market via specialized partners, where they are available as a valuable raw material for new applications. In this way, we actively contribute to the conservation of natural resources and the reduction of plastic waste.

For whr Hossinger Kunststofftechnik, however, recycling is more than just a disposal process—it is an expression of our commitment to sustainability. By using raw materials responsibly and consistently practicing a circular economy, we take responsibility for the environment and future generations.

Our goal is clear: to use plastic as efficiently as possible, keep recyclable materials in the cycle, and make a measurable contribution to environmental protection through sustainable practices.
